Sanjusan is a super trendy dining experience that does not disappoint at any step along the way. Make sure you get an early reservation to avoid the crowd and you'll get treated like royalty. Every dish I had here was absolutely amazing and crafted with delicate flavors that were carefully curated and expertly executed. The non-alcoholic drink offerings were fantastic as well. The octopus appetizer was a total wow, as well as the eggplant- which was crisper than I've ever had. The wild boar gnochetti was a standout dish (and the portion size was incredible) and it was rich a hearty and filling. Great service and an amazing experience for my third time here.

It’s our first time to visit this place, we didn’t make a reservation. Luckily, there’s availability at bar table. Staff, was very busy with all the customers, but they were still try their best to serve everyone as soon as possible. Also, the staff, Cherry, was patient to explain each dish for us with mandarin, and she kept checking how we like our orders. She was really helpful and nice to us. ( really appreciate) We like the texture of the noodles and the creativity of their sauce. Although, we didn’t expect one of the noodle was too spicy to us, the overall flavor was very delicious. Especially the dessert! Also they change the menu once a while. I would definitely comeback to try some more, and maybe the wine or sake!🥂🍶

Food, service and ambience were great! We were taken to an upper level where there were a few tables set and a private dining area. Everyone who served us were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was kid friendly, got our little one a high chair. What we had: Buratta(Agedashi Tofu) Yakitori (Thigh, Wing, Meatball) Hiramasa Collar (which was introduced as a special) Mentaiko Lumache Kosho Kola (zero proof) We loved everything we had. Buratta was a little pricey but I really loved their take on agedashi tofu, would def reorder. Another standout was Mentaiko Lumache. Pasta shells with Mentaiko sauce and pistachio. Was not sure about the pistachio at first but it turned out to be really delicious. Portion size for the pasta was quite big so it worked out well for sharing. If you’re driving, they do have a valet service for $10 which is super helpful with the lack of parking around. They send a link to your phone and you can pay online, no cash required except for the tip.

It is Italian Japanese food. I didn't know what kind of fusion would be like these kinds of combinations. It did have some pasta, pizza, and yakitori. There are a lot of options for the yakitori. Personally, I recommend tenderloin and skin. But the portion is small, one per order. We also ordered pasta and pizza. Ordered the daily specials pizza which was recommended by the service. The flavor was good but I am not super fond of the pizza bone since it was thick and a bit overcooked. The squid ink pappardelle was really special and delicious! I was amazed by the pasta. I love the combination and the flavor of this dish. The atmosphere was pretty good. With the open kitchen, can see the kitchen clearly. However, it is a small space, so will close to other customers. The service was incredible. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for giving a try for the Italian Japanese style food.

I was impressed when I walked in! The hosts greeted us right away and we were greeted by this beautiful restaurant, a lot of natural lighting. We sat at the bar, I love an option kitchen, to be part of the action. The Food: PANZANELLA- The favorite dish- refreshing, creamy and had a nice kick. Highly recommend. EGGPLANT KATSU- Eggplant was nice and crispy, paired well with the cabbage. SQUID INK PAPPARDELLE- Beautiful black noodles with good seafood flavor. I actually love the texture of the pappardelle. Flan- The best flan in the world. It’s a little denser, spongy- topped with apples and cider whip, sobacha. Fantastic dessert. I could seriously eat 2 of these. Yum. Drink: HANA HACHI- Reminds me of a margarita, sweet and notes of lime.

First time experiencing Sanjusan last night and I'm in LOVE. I wouldn't even say I was out for dinner, I would say I was out for an experience. The staff was amazing and so helpful, the food was out of this world, I experienced flavors I didn't even know existed. I went with my friend who is a regular there, she knew exactly what to order. Eating a bite of delicious food, followed by the amazing music in the background really made the ambience feel even more special. I didn't feel like I was in Minneapolis, I felt like I was transported to a city such as Chicago or New York. Seeing other people enjoying their food really made me happy for the staff and the owners of Sanjusan because they should be proud of creating a place like this. I can't wait to come back and bring more people here so they can have the same experience I had!

My sister and I just visited this place for the first time. We didn’t make a reservation but luckily, we got a seat at the bar right away. We had two very attentive bartenders and they were both sweet and helpful when we asked about the menu. For drinks, we both got the Hana Hachi which is basically a margarita. They tasted smokey and sweet and the drinks went down easy. For food, we split a pizza and a pasta dish. The Isaac Becker and the Ja Ja Mein (I think that was what it was called). The pizza was waaayyy better than I thought it would be. Not one bit of that pizza didn’t have flavor. The Ja Ja, it was also good but not for the price point it had. It tasted like a fancy version of hamburger helper. If that’s what you like, then that dish will be your jam. Now, we did end the meal with dessert and let me tell you… IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! We got the Red Miso & Chocolate Budino. This stuff was pure bliss. I wished we had purchased another serving to take home, it was that amazing. It wasn’t too sweet and yet it was still so flavorful. The chocolate wasn’t too rich, the candied macadamia nuts added the right kind of nuttiness to it, and the cream on top rounded out this perfect little dish of heaven. It was probably the top 5 best desserts I’ve ever had. If you come here, DO NOT SKIMP ON THE DESSERT. I would also like to commend the restaurant for the awesome choice of music and the dare I say, amazing bathrooms? They had all the essentials in those bathrooms and fun little additions including business cards with their Spotify playlist! Overall, a great cozy and comfortable restaurant with good food and good company!
